Some cute video of Josh pointing out his body parts and "reading" a book about his favorite subject...construction trucks...enjoy!
Welcome! We decided to design this website so that we could keep in touch with our friends and family both near and far! We can't promise anything too exciting...just every day life! We hope that you enjoy keeping up with the boys because they are growing up fast!

Our Little Angels...
Oh, what a sweet angelic picture...our two little boys look like angels in a huge cloud of bubbles... Getting along, smiling and smelling so sweet...only for a Kodak moment!
Let's just say that the sibling rivalry has escalated to a whole new level at our house now that Joshy is officially in the "terrible two's!" I guess we can be grateful...Caleb started the same behavior a whole year earlier than Josh at 18 months! We can almost pin point the minute that our little Joshy turned into a more independent toddler...last Sunday afternoon! Let's just say that he is much more outgoing with strangers...which is a good thing...since he has been scared of anyone other than his immediate family since he was 3 months old! But, with that new found independence and bravery comes some not so desirable traits! Let's just say that I can officially add "referee" to my list of many titles around our house!
Josh was officially put in timeout last Sunday for the first time for repeatedly pushing his plate across the table. The next day he did it again at lunch and I explained that it makes mommy sad when he is naughty and does things that he knows are wrong. And, it makes me happy when he chooses to do the right thing. So, he thought for a minute and pulled his plate back in front of him and looked at me with a big smile and said, "mommy happy now?!" If it were only so simple most of the time!

Caleb's Quote
We have not talked much about politics with Caleb until this Tuesday. I mentioned that I had to go vote for our new president while he was at school. I told them their names and who I was voting for and why. I left it at that. The next day, he asked who won and I told him Barack Obama. He asked me why people would not vote for him and I said that some people believe that they might have to pay more taxes. Caleb of course does not know what taxes are. I could tell in his silence that he was really thinking it through. He said, "more people will have to get cars because there are not enough taxi's to go around."

Simple Pleasures
Cute Video Clip...
I was pruning some bushes and "trying" to clean up leaves the other day, but the boys had other plans! Who can resist a leaf pile!
We have had gorgeous fall weather this last week...sunny & mid-60's - low 70's here in Sioux Falls...we are all loving that!!

Trick-or-Treat
Well, I was hoping for an adorable picture of Caleb (Diego) and Joshy (puppy), but as you can see, Josh was not very cooperative! He was just fine with the costume, black nose and whiskers...but when the ears were put on...NO WAY! So, desperate mom did what she never does...BRIBE! I offered Josh a juice box (one of his favorite things) in exchange for a smile...
and it worked...sort of...just ignore the crocodile tears on his whiskers and blotchy red face! He said "cheese" and managed to get out a little smile!
So, off we went, juice box in hand (I had to give Caleb one too)! We did the trick-or-treat thing and Josh decided that he liked the idea about 1/2 way through. He screamed when a puppy jumped at him at one house, but all in all he did pretty well. I told him that the puppy just wanted to play with him (a puppy) but he did not seem to care about that.

After a few streets of house to house, we arrived at our church for the Harvest Party. We had dinner, played games, crafts, and did the cake walk (Josh and Caleb both won)! So, we brought home two plates of cupcakes...Jon was pretty happy about that...ok, I was too! We got home about 1/2 hour before bed time and the boys had just as much fun handing out candy to kids that came to our house!

Precious Life
It will not be to often that I do something like this, but this little tribute is amazing and heartwarming. God created each one of us and we do not know how many days we are going to have in this life, that is up to Him and Him alone. It is a reminder that God is for life and we as Christians should do all that we can...pray, speak up and even vote to protect each life. They do not have a voice, but we do.
I hope that this touches you as much as it has touched me...our children and each minute with them is truly a gift!

Caleb's Quote
Caleb has really been into praying himself after we pray with him at night. A few days ago (after reading the Walls of Jericho story at school) he prayed... "Lord thank you making me be born after the walls of Jericho came down and that you named Joshua and I after those guys on the Bible. Thank you for living in my heart and that you can help me to do the right things and help mommy (I liked that part). Thank you for food and for money to buy toys. Amen."
