We were in Sioux Falls for Palm Sunday. Caleb sang a song at church and all the kids got to wave palm branches during the Sunday service. The boys also had a lot of fun with them at home recreating Jesus on the donkey and waving palm branches.

We left for the farm Tuesday after school....for a WHOLE week, as Jon's mom would say!! Caleb and I went on a play date with a friend of his (and mine) on Wednesday and
Joshy got to stay with Grandpa & Grandma. He made quick friends with Grandpa playing with lots of trucks and even taking a nap on his lap! No fair...Josh never does that with me!! (Separate post at a later date...Josh no longer sees the need to nap...mom has a different opinion!)

Dan, Julie and the girls arrived late Thursday night...we were all in bed, so I am not sure when! Caleb and Josh were so excited to see them Friday morning and quickly got to work playing!

We played lots of games. Jr. Scrabble and
Bananagrams mainly. Julie and I got lots of
scrapbooking done!

Dan & Jon could not resist ganging up on Joe!

And, there was lots of time with all the nieces!

Jon & I took the boys outdoors a lot either 4-wheeling or just exploring.
Gpa Joe started up the semi truck for Josh a few times so that he could "drive" the truck and honk the horn by pulling on the rope...he LOVED that! Josh has also caught on to Joe's candy stash in the shop. He likes to go visit Grandpa out there to climb up on the little lawn tractor AND get a mini candy bar! I wonder where he gets his sweet tooth from...his mom has to have chocolate every day or it is not a good day!

We had some fairly nice weather and we took advantage of a lot of time outdoors. The Miller girls have "mud boots" so that they can get around the farm (we just brought our snow boots)! I think our "city slicker" boys need some mud boots as well after this trip! Well, the point of the mud boots was to stay fairly clean if you "accidentally" got in some mud. Well, it turned into a "let's search out every drop of mud on the farm and tromp through it" weekend!

We warned the kids to stay out of the mud because we had seen way too many totally covered boots when they made it back to the house...but that fell on deaf ears I guess! So, who else but Uncle Jon to the rescue!
Aleah managed to walk in the middle of a really large, deep mud puddle that felt more like quick sand I guess! Jon was close by and the only adult outside at the time. "Do I leave her here and go get my brother to rescue her or do I take off my shoes and do it myself!" Well, he was really close to going to get Dan, when he turned around and saw
Aleah slowly tip over and totally fall in the mud! Her boots were so stuck in the mud that he had a hard time pulling them out! He ended up making his way to the house with her and it looked like his feet had been tarred and feathered...except they had been mud and leafed! What a sacrificial uncle!! Thankfully it was "clean" mud as they call it...is was not manure or "dirty" mud! I never knew there was such a thing as clean or dirty mud until I met the Miller's! I have a lot to learn I guess!

Josh always enjoys time with Ally and she loves the attention! Sorry Papa and Grandma if your Milk Bone box is running low...I think
Joshy did go overboard on the treats a bit!

Caleb enjoyed the rope swing as usual...with his snow (I mean) mud boots!

Anne had everyone over for dinner and Stacey took everyone out to see the baby calves. Nathan drove the gator out for Jon, Caleb,
Jaelyn and Josh. Notice
everything covered in mud...I mean dirty mud...herding all the cows!

Anne bravely invited all the girls (and Caleb) over for a sleep over. She wisely did not tell Stacey her intentions ahead of time! I offered him Caleb's bed over at Joe & Margaret's house but he declined! I am sure they got their ears full of screams, squeaks and squeals that evening! Thanks Anne, you are a brave woman! Caleb had
soooo much fun...as usual!

The next day we took all the kids back and colored eggs! Stacey, you can take out your earplugs now?!

We made Caleb go shirtless and the girls covered up with towels...that stuff really stains! I still have a pink thumb a week later!!

Josh had fun painting designs on the eggs!

Grandma and Anne stuffed all the plastic eggs with toys, candy and quarters and the kids had so much fun on the hunt. I think there were about 100 eggs!

Miller family picture on Easter Sunday. Notice Caleb is the only one goofing off?! Whose son is that anyway!

We had a great week at the farm and enjoyed our time with family! The boys loved their time with their cousins and can't wait to see them all again!
