Sitting at lunch today Josh pipes up with a list of his favorites...some of them were on his plate: strawberries, watermewon, dirt and mud! What a combo!

Baseball is Here!

Caleb had his first baseball game after his preschool graduation on the 18th. Josh and I went back and forth between the playground and the baseball field. Sorry Caleb, but the game is not exciting enough for Josh to sit through a whole game!

Caleb did a lot of running... It looks like he is really huffing and puffing in this picture. It was about 85 degrees and Caleb says that he "doesn't like to get sweaty!"
Fielding... He got an out on second when he was in the shortstop position! He picked up a nice grounder and ran to 2nd to get the runner out! Well, he was technically out. In T-ball, the fear of emotional outbursts prevents any runner from actually getting out. The rules say that they get to stay on base and run home. Good thing, I can just see these little guys having tantrums on the field and mortified parents trying to drag them off the field...not fun!

And hitting... He does real well with this after all of Jon's instruction on lining up with the ball. Caleb really enjoys baseball and looks forward to his games. This is a good match for him because it is not constant running like soccer. After the aforementioned aversion to sweat...that is a good thing!

Caleb Graduated!

Caleb graduated from Preschool on May 18th...yea! It was a pretty special day for the little guy and we are so proud of him! They had an "Aloha to Preschool" theme.
They had a really nice little program with lots of songs & dancing...

His teacher, Mrs. Bornitz, said that Caleb was a real pleasure to have in class! He will miss her and made her a special thank you card on his last day.

Josh could not resist trying on Caleb's Hawaiian hat. I suppose he will wear this in a few years when he graduates! Yikes...that will come sooner than I want it too!

Caleb wrote this in Children's Church for Mother's Day...definitely a keeper!! I put all his "creative" fill in the blanks in caps and in his original spelling. Enjoy!

My mom is the most wonderful mom in the whole world. She is as pretty as a BUNY RABIT. She is A HAPPY MOM. My mom is 25 years old. Her hair is BROWN and CURLY. My mom's favorite food is SPAHETTI. When she has "free time", she loves to SIT IN THE SUN. When she was in Kindergarten, she never ever CRIED. I think mom looks funny when she DRESES UP LIK A FLOWER. She makes me laugh when she TIKLS ME. I wish my mom would GO TO CHUCKIE CHEESE with me every day. I wouldn't trade mom for a BUMBL BEE because IT WULD STING ME.

What we have been up too...a lot lately!

It seems like I start most of my posts this way...but sorry for the long delay in getting one of these done. I will just put a bunch of things in one post this time. We have been busy...whew!

Spring has finally arrived and we are coming out of hibernation after a LONG winter! Actually, this winter did not seem that bad. We did not have terrible amounts of snow and we have had spring-like weather for a few weeks now...yeah!
On May 1st we decided to meet Grandpa Joe & Grandma Margaret 1/2 way in Watertown to celebrate her birthday! We met at the local bakery for a quick pastry and then off to the zoo! The kids loved it and so did we!

The boys really liked the bird house...lots to see...it is always fun to watch those goofy ducks!

We all had lunch and opened gifts after he zoo. Caleb also made Grandma a May Day basket complete with popsicle stick flowers. Jon could not resist giving Margaret a new word game! They are Scrabble nuts!

And so it begins...baseball! Caleb had his first practice a few weeks ago!

His team on picture day! Caleb was so happy to hear that he was on team HyVee (our local grocery store)! We are there a few times a week at least! He sang their little song..."Where there is a helpful smile in every isle!" What a kid!

We actually bought Josh this little 4 wheeler at Christmas but held off on giving it to him until now because it is motorized and not ideal for the house. He would have drove me crazy all winter wanting to get on it out in the snow. Who would blame him...it looks like fun! We also got Caleb a new "big boy" bike. His little 12" bike was way to small for him this summer!

Josh rode his little 4 wheeler the first day until the battery wore out! I think it was a few hours at least! He says he is like Papa Joe now!

Can you tell by his HUGE smiles that this is his idea of heaven!!??

On to another subject...Josh has totally reverted to about 18 months old and FREAKS out about water on his face again! Augh! I thought I already went over this hurdle with him and won that race! Not quite. So, I got on the internet and bought a "bath hat" as we call them. I lucked out and there were 2 in a pack so Caleb can help me out and wear one to demonstrate how well they work at keeping water off your face. Josh watches closely and we really talk up how great this hat is and how well it works. Caleb by the way...loves water on his face and you can usually find him sticking his face under the faucet as the tub fills! Anyway, it works great, but apparently just the thought that one drop might land on his face is just too much to bear for Josh! It is better with the hat on...it is still too early to tell if these hats will bring a more peaceful bath time! If not, they sure look cute in them! :)

Caleb celebrated his 2nd Spiritual Birthday on the 8th! He is learning to have those fruits of the Spirit show each day! We are so proud of him and the interest that he shows in spiritual things.

The boys got me some flowers on Saturday before Mother's Day! Notice that the boys picked some lovely yellow flowers from the yard. They are so proud of their find! I was just glad that they picked them before they went to seed!

We had a nice Mother's Day together on Sunday. The kids made me such nice cards and gifts. Caleb made me a little tea light holder at pre-school.

We are so thankful for the boys and I am so thankful for Jon and all that he does for me and them. We are truly blessed and are so thankful for Denise and our special mothers as well!
