New Addition to the Family...Jessie!

We have a new addition...Jessie! She is 4 months old and is a Golden Retriever/Poodle mix (Goldiedoodle)! She obviously has more Golden that Doodle (about 3/4 Golden, 1/4 Poodle). We have been checking out websites for the Humane Society and a place called Second Chance Rescue for about a month now and she became available on Saturday this last weekend.

We went to the Humane Society and met Jessie and really liked her. The boys loved her! She is well mannered (for a 4 month old) and seemed like a good fit for us. She is potty trained, sleeps in her crate overnight without a peep and so far has not had any chewing issues...all concerns with a new puppy! And, she very rarely barks and loves everyone...VERY different from our last dog! We were hoping for a 2-3 year old, but are happy that she is so well behaved and seems to have some of the puppy things figured out already! She knows some commands, just not consistently and seems to listen well and wants to please you. We plan to start a puppy obedience class the end of the month with her.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Josh made his first card for daddy this year "all by myself." I helped him write "Happy Birthday Daddy" and he wrote his name all by himself for the first time (I had to help him with the 's'). He was so proud of himself. He made a picture of daddy and Josh at a monster truck show and he is making a doughnut cake here with candles on it. He was very careful to give each candle a flame!!

Little did Josh know that Daddy, Josh and Caleb were going to his first monster truck show the next day...more on that later...

Caleb made a great card (always colorful and full of detail!) He made a picture of daddy and Caleb in baseball caps going out for a smoothie. He even drew the smoothie machine with all his (and dad's) favorite flavors! We got Dad a new book from one of his favorite authors and a Starbucks coffee card...the boys know how much their dad loves coffee!
