Falls Park Santa Visit & Choir Performance...

Caleb had the opportunity to sing at Falls Park for the lighting of the park celebration. We arrived early so that the boys could get organized and it also provided an awesome opportunity for the boys to visit Santa with NO LINES! Now THAT is rare and a miracle!!

This was Josh's first visit with Santa because he has been pretty intimidated with him in the past. Well, not this year...he walked right up and boldly told Santa that he would like a remote control 4-wheeler! Jon and I listened closely (so that we would know what to buy) and Santa gave us a wink!

Caleb told Santa that he wanted a Reindeer Webkinz or a Peppermint Webkinz Puppy for Christmas...again we took notes! I asked Caleb later what Santa whispered to him and he told Caleb to be nice to his Mom...I like this Santa!!

Caleb sang a total of three songs and they sounded great. I think it must be a mom thing, but my heart just warms when I see Caleb sing or perform. He does such a great job!!

I have a few video clips of their songs but they are too big for Blogger...sorry :( I would have loved for you to hear them!

Anniversary Celebrations, Frogs & Christmas Trees...

I know this is a strange title, but that is what happens when you have one picture of several random things! I also have no idea why this is typing in underline...I can't find a button to shut it off! This is a first!

Anyway, Joe & Margaret came to Sioux Falls to celebrate their anniversary. We had dinner with them on their anniversary after they saw (what sounded like an awesome production) of White Christmas at the Washington Pavilion. They said they always eat alone, so they wanted our company :)

Caleb has really gotten into the Magic Tree House books this month and started reading this one to Josh because he LOVES dinosaurs!

Speaking of books...Jon & I decided to start reading through this book with the boys before bed each night...

Jon remembers Margaret reading it to him when he was little and he LOVED it and still remembers the book. Although, it has been fun for him to read it again because he has forgotten some of the details. We knew that Caleb would love it and we were surprised that Josh was equally excited about the book. It uses lots of new big vocabulary words (which is great) but more importantly, it shows the parallel of Little Christian's life to our life and journey to be with the Lord someday. Next on our list is the Narnia books by C.S. Lewis!

Wow, this post really is random! I thought this was such a cute picture of Josh! He wanted us to cover him with all his little squishy frogs!

Caleb was so proud of his armor that he made at school. The assignment was to make a shield with warm & cool colors. He took it a bit further and added a sword, hat and wristbands...that is Caleb for you...always going above & beyond in his schoolwork!

We have two trees and this is the tree for the boys with all their special ornaments that they have received as gifts. This is always such a highlight for them this time of year :)
